I have a run of shows til the end of May with with Compagnia Colombari, a theater collective. Our show is based on the poetry of Walt Whitman, honoring the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth. More Or Less I Am is a music- theater piece drawn from Walt Whitman's 1855 "Song of Myself" - conceived and directed by Karin Coonrod with original music by Colin Jacobsen, Kyle Sanna and Eric Jacobsen. Ever heard Carnatic Chamber Jazz? Me neither- til now. Played a sweet set last night with Marika Hughes and the power team Arun Ramamurthy and Trina Basu during Marika's month-long residency at Barbès. I'd performed this music with Trina and Arun with percussion, but never with two cellos. Great combo! More to come soon...we'll be in residence at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute in June.
