Marlboro Slipstream Group (MSG) records an EP
After many months of rehearsal, the Marlboro Slipstream Group spent a day recording an EP at the legendary Guilford Sound Studio. This ensemble has been in residence at Marlboro College since the beginning of the 2018/19 academic year and is focused on new and improvised music, employing several different modalities of improvisation from our varied backgrounds as musicians. We recorded works by both Ned Rothenberg and Matan Rubinstein as well as improvisations. Matan's piece was a multi-movement tone poem inspired by Jack Womack's dystopian sci-fi novel, 'Terraplane'. Challenging and engaging work. These musicians have pushed me to grow as an improviser.
