'More Or Less I Am' Walt Whitman's Bicentennial

'More Or Less I Am' Walt Whitman's Bicentennial

I have a run of shows til the end of May with with Compagnia Colombari, a theater collective. Our show is based on the poetry of Walt Whitman, honoring the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth.

More Or Less I Am is a music- theater piece drawn from Walt Whitman's 1855 "Song of Myself" - conceived and directed by Karin Coonrod with original music by Colin Jacobsen, Kyle Sanna and Eric Jacobsen.

It involves a company of 13 - actors, singers and instrumentalists. MORE OR LESS I AM vitalizes Whitman's call to us, then and now, a declaration of interdependence , an awaking of the American consciousness. Here in full voice is our audacious poet laureate whose message so passionately articulates our enormous and creative diversity and seems to exhort us to get back to our soul and cut a deep mark together.

Compagnia Colombari is an international collective of performing artists, born in Orvieto, Italy and based in New York City, dedicated to new and old works from diverse traditions and cultures, creating spectacles wherever it goes.
